After attending SS I heard that the academy takes your standardized test scores and will superscore them. Not only will they do that, but the highest score can use both tests. So if I score a good level on my ACT but not so hot on my SAT reading score they will take the highest, correct? What is their means of determining which is higher?

Not 100% sure about it, but I assume they take the national averages and compare. So if you get a710 reading for SAT but a 35 on the ACT, one may be in the top 5% and the other the top 1% and then they would just take the best score.

The two tests don't really match up as the ACT has more separate sections. I think math is the only one that could be possible. I am not sure all the academies would have the same policy on this. Interesting question though. I think I asked something similar two years ago. Just don't remember the answers. Lol.

This is straight from an admissions briefing I got at my CVW in January: they will superscore your ACT with your SAT. Meaning if you don't do so well on the Reading and Writing section on the SAT but got fantastic scores on the English and Writing sections of the ACT, they will take the higher of the ACT scores and combine them with your science and math in the same manner. How they reach a final score, I haven't the faintest idea, however I can tell you that this information has been validated by an official source.

That is correct, they super score. Not sure how you determine which is higher between the ACT score compared to the SAT score, but they will determine that. The way they super score is they take your highest math score, from all the tests you have taken and the highest verbal from all your test.

They convert all scores to an SAT equivalent and take the highest score in each category regardless of what test it came from. For the ACT, USNA only looks at the Math and English. They basically super duper score.

Does the English score include the Reading score?
