Hey I’m new to the forum and I’m sure this question gets asked all the time but can you tell me what SAT scores are needed typically to have a chance for a LOA to USMA?

Not sure what a threshold would be, however son got loa with 2110. WP also had gpa and 6 semester grades.

I'm not sure what the requirements are, but I received an LOA with a 2000 SAT and 30 ACT. West Point also had my school transcripts when I was considered for an LOA.

Still no LOA for me and I got a 2120. But to my understanding it's a combination of many things other than the SAT.

I have a 1970 SAT score, yet I received an LOA from the Naval Academy. It is most likely a combination of things. I have a lot of leadership positions at my school and I have a weighted GPA of 4.0.

It's not all about grades and test scores.
While standardized test scores and the school transcript are important factors in whether or not someone receives an LOA, LOAs are also used to help West Point meet their composition goals. That doesn't just mean race and gender but also leaders, intellectuals and athletes.

At West Point, you won't be considered for a LOA until:
1) you have filled out the PCQ
2) West Point has received your 6th semester transcript and
3) SAT/ACT scores have been received by West Point
