Sat Scores

Had your scores been reversed, you might be IDing yourself as 2016RepeatingHopeful.

Your point is a good one with merit, but risks portraying all variables equally. They are not, and indeed one good one will not necessarily balance the other lesser one. You got them in the correct order. Good luck, keep your

Whistle pig who are considered part of the priority target group

Here's my take on this issue, just from my observation as a usma parent and not the usna, I would list priority target applicants as recruited athletes, prior service enlisted personnel, minorities (native american, hispanic, and african american) and the children of military personnel. Some of these groups get a small bump or a larger one depending on how much leadership potential they have demonstrated, how much they have persevered through difficult circumstances, whether they have a nomination and how much the service academy wants them. I also think (mostly rural) applicants get a bump if they are from poor performing high schools and have a nomination. In some cases admission is offered to the prep school and not directly to the service academy.

Neugs,

My BGO said that my application was very strong aside from my SAT which he said I could make stronger. Can having a strong application help you with lower sat scores. If you want to see my entire application then I can post it so you can see if it is strong or not.

To improve your score, buy the *official* collegeboard or ACT test prep books. Other companies attempt to imitate the questions and many times don't do a great job. Practicing real SAT/ACT questions is key.

Also, just throwing it out there, if you're in Navy JROTC, you have access to an online SAT/ACT study course that the navy pays for...

Good luck
