Hello, I'm starting to write my nomination letter. My congressman and senators are asking for my SAT scores. The thing is, they are really bad. I got a 1450 :frown: I took the test without studying last month and I honestly regret it. I know I can do better. I've been studying extremely hard to take it again this October and possibly score a much much better score. What should I do? I need some advice

Take it earlier than October and study..then study some more. I wouldn't even submit that score to any of the congressman or senators, wait until it is better. The Academy doesn't focus on the Writing portion so really put forth the effort in Reading and Math. Still try in Writing, though, for Plan B. In all honesty, you want your Math and Reading to be a combined 1450 to secure that nomination and appointment.

Also take the ACT some students perform better on one test than on the other so max your chance.

If only I could take it earlier, but sadly, the upcoming test dates are October and November...sigh :( So, I should just leave the SAT scores section blank when I submit my request for nomination?

I looked at ACT's website and their next test is Sep.13. I'm thinking of taking that too to make up for my lack of good test results until October..?

I would include when you plan to take it on the app and yes take the sept ACT and make it your JOB to be prepared (classes, timed practice exams etc) good luck
