Sat scores!

Try looking into a tutor. It's expensive but for example, my tutor "guarantees" results of a 70-100 point increase IF you follow his program. Also, USMA will accept the January test scores, so there's still time to improve your scores!

Meh...

I got my first SAT back today from November; I'm currently a Junior. I got 570 on CR, 580 on Math, and 560 on Writing. My only preparations were 10 two-and-half hour lessons which I paid $375 for.

i got my results as well...my highest scores for all three are 630-Writing, 620-Critical Reading, and 620-Math(70 point improvement)...Just keep at it. I'm contepmplating taking the test for the fifth time in December

Do they consider the writing score?

I do not believe they play heavily into the decisions process, but obviously they are considered.

For those of you who aren't satisfied with your SAT scores, try taking the ACT as well. I never took the SAT, but my PSAT scores predicted I'd get something like a 1340 for the combined math and CR score. I took the ACT with everyone else at my school and got a 34. When I talked to the ROTC instructor at Stanford, he informed me that the school translated this into a 1520. Much better than a 1340 in my book.
