Scholarship money?

2012, GA does have a scholarship program, but it is only for tuition at instate schools. The money is paid directly to the school, not to the student. It is for tuition and fees. The name is HOPE, and it requires you graduate from an accredited school with a 3.0. Sorry, you cannot use your HOPE $ for USMA.

National Merit Scholarships

Can these be applied to West Point?

That is ironic

given that WP likes to tout the number of winners who attend each year.

I think pedro4 was referring to the National Merit Scholarship winners and if you can apply those scholarships to West Point.

Buff is correct

I remember when I was in HS long ago the National Merit Winners got $2,000, which would pay two years tuition at a public university. Now it pays for the books in year one. Nice recognition, but would not help much at Notre Dame or Stanford.

Gotcha - sorry for being confused.

It depends on the restrictions of the scholarship. If it can ONLY be used for tuition, room and board then you can't use it.

Don't worry - you don't need any scholarship money to go to West Point. You will get a monthly stipend. If for some reason you don't have the entrance fee they will work with you.

oh, well...hopefully I'll find some scholarship that could cover that pesky entrance fee...
