Scholarship question

You might be able to get the question answered by reading your merit scholarship fine print, I know I noticed this in the wording for my daugters going to University of Arizona (not for ROTC FYI), it says specifically not usable for room and board, and not for use with an ROTC scholarship. Yes call financial aid and find out there should be a financial aid counselor that handles all ROTC students.

It really is crazy how it varies. My daughter's academic scholarship to Arizona State (same Board of Regents as UofA) goes to cover her room and board with no issue whatsoever.

Had my son selected WVU, his academic scholarship would have gone to room and board there as well.

Yeah that is crazy about Arizona versus Arizona State. My two daughters that are going to go there are on athletic scholarships, so even crazier because there is no actual "money" coming in from anywhere, however academic scholarship has to go to tuition and athletic can be applied to room and board, all very odd. My ROTC daughter's school also does not allow academic money to cover room and board, so she didn't get to use that, however the school "waives" room and board for scholarship cadets, so it still works out, just how they like to deal with the accounting I guess.
