Hello,
I’ve received an email from my ROO at my top institution congratulating me for receiving a 4 year T1. Would this be a error considering that it’s not March yet?
Thank you in advance!

Sounds like someone in the "know' from your top university is aware that you either are, or are about to selected from a recent board for a 4 year type 1 scholarship out of the AFROTC HSSP scholarship program. Or did the ROO state anything more specific, use the word "commander's" in that note? Sounds like the board adjudicated / made a decision that this person is aware of, and let you know early. I don't think it's an error - some ROO's let the cat out of the bag to some candidates.

From my perspective the scholarship offer is not official until it shows as such in wings but I would take this as a very good sign. I would be guardedly optimistic and check your wings portal often to see when a decision is reflected there to make this official. You can also thank the person who wrote you, share your enthusiasm and appreciation, and also ask the person who congratulated you of a timeframe of when you might officially receive the scholarship.

The Air Force is awarding less scholarships from the HSSP program this year so congratulations on receiving this award. Please keep the group posted as you learn more. Good luck and thanks for your willingness to serve.

Thank you for the response! I contacted him and he said that SFROTC results should now be live on the WINGS portal. I've confirmed that I've received it there too as well.

Here are my stats if anyone was curious:

Applied AFROTC/SFROTC (Received SFROTC HSSP T1 2/22/23)

Biomedical Engineering
SAT: 1550 (750EBRW/800M)
GPA: 4.0 UW
PFA: Barely passing, but passing
Eagle Scout, Various scout leadership positions
Marching Band, all 4 years, no leadership

Also got the SFROTC scholarship today! The ROO from my top university also contacted me about it about an hour before it was in my portal. I still want to be a pilot, so I was wondering if I'm still going to be considered the same as other applicants for the AFROTC scholarship which should be released sometime soon I believe. Does anyone know if I could use the scholarship for the first year, stop using the scholarship, and then compete for an AFROTC scholarship for the next three years?

On the packet it says that SFROTC Scholarship cadets can still receive a commission into the Air Force so I wouldnt sweat it 😄

Dang I just saw that! Whats the point of distinguishing the two scholarships then?

Does anyone know how many Space Force scholarships were awarded? My son has a 4-year Army scholarship but was deferred to the last AFROTC board.

I got a call today offering me a scholarship by the detachment commander. It was not my first choice school so I turned it down. Do I still have a chance for a scholarship through the regular process.
