Looking for a contact to help get scholarships processed. My cadet has gone into the offices, emailed, etc. with no luck. This matter needs to be cleared up for several parties before year end. We were told how it would be handled last May but still needs to be processed. Any help would be most appreciated.

Sean Geisman (sean.geisman@uscg.mil) is the POC for scholarships or 529 questions. Since there is no tuition, scholarships that must be paid directly to the school can only be used to offset the ICA loan. I've attached the information for submitting along with the phone number.

If the scholarships can be given to the student as a check would be best. My DD had to forego a couple scholarships because they would only write it to an institution. They could donate it to the school through parent alumni I think. Honestly, the academy is giving them the biggest scholarship. Thats the scholarship worth keeping.

My daughter just finished swab summer. She was awarded a scholarship from a Community group in which they are requesting a bill. Will the cadets be given a bill/invoice for the loan? I have provided the scholarship committee with the contact information for CGA, but they simply will not cut the check until they see a 'bill'.

I think the best you can do is have your cadet contact Seth Geisman. I don't think my cadet was ever able to get a bill although she was able to find out the total of her loan. That was not in a bill format though, just an email with the amounts.

There are two separate ICA loan issuances during 4/c year. The first is in late September/early October. The second is in late Decembe/early January. Mr. Geisman can provide the amounts once they are issued. They will also be posted the cadets pay summary online.
