School supplies

Maybe you will feel better, but my son never asked for any school supplies last year. He made it through and going to sea in a few days. 
Relax. Take a deep breath. If your PC hasn't asked for any school supplies, they may not need them. They will get their computer today and will be able to email you any requests/needs. Some may have gotten to the NEX before others. Some may have not wanted to stand in line and are asking parents to send things. Classes start Wednesday. I know that some of the requests I got were after classes had started - like a binder for KP100. But as I pointed out in another post, they were in transition between the old ship's store and the NEX at the beginning of the year last year. Supplies should be easier to get this year.
Your PC will not get in trouble because they are short a notebook right now! If they are mastering the skill of interacting with upperclassmen in a friendly manner without crossing the line into being too familiar (otherwise known as frat) the upperclassmen will help them. They may be lucky and have someone pick something up for them at CVS or Target. Bottom line - don't panic. They'll be fine.

Echoing but the NEEX indeed has everything they need and at least in my own own son's case last year he actually said he enjoyed going and buying the stuff there since it was one of the few things he was allowed to do and that he felt he could make his own decisions on without "regimetal guidance" = 
Also as has been mentioned in our own son's case, he being frugal - at least with his own money if not ours too, he was able in those cases where he thought the NEEX item/price unwarrented, to get a helpful upperclassman, such as his team leader, to pick up what he wanted from a lower cost option (Staples or CVS in Great and/or Little Neck).
So no reason to panic though of course at this juncture they never seem to mind it when you send them something they ask for and more, if for no other reason it lets them know you still love them even if their CTO or CTOA is ITiing them for something..
