The docter said I didn't have scoliosis! but even if I have a mild one. Do you think ill get DQ?? I sent all my radioligist notes to DODmerb to be reviewed. Really nervous that I'm not going to get qualified. What do you think?

I think you should believe and have faith in your doctor. He went through quite a bit of higher education to become a doctor, you know.

Besides, scoliosis is not a straight disqualifier; there are certain limits (think it was 20º lumbar and 30º thoracic?). And even if you're disqualified, it is waiverable.

I'm not a doctor, but if there's this much doubt surrounding the existence of your scoliosis, it's likely that it's quite mild (if it exists at all) and not something you should worry yourself about.

Bullet many yrs ago was diagnosed, incorrectly with scoliosis, the degree curvature is the issue. He was told he had a 23 degree curve. He went to a specialist and the doc explained if you even breath during the xray it could change the curvature of your spine.

Needless to say he had a new x-ray and flew F-15E's for his career.

Just believe.

I have/had scoliosis too. I think as long as you can stand up straight without slouching or leaning to one side, your degree of curvature isn't that bad. If you look/feel normal, you're good.

Good luck!

to the OP -- I have scoliosis, but it is a very minuscule degree (I think around 15 I want to say). I have already gone through the DODmerb process and they did flag it as remedial. I just had to go for an additional back x-ray and that was it. I am fully qualified now. If a licensed physician says you don't have it then most likely you do not, and shouldn't worry about it. Even if you do have a slight curve and he/she missed it, it has to be less than a few degrees. Therefore, the chance you'll get DQ'd is very unlikely. Hope this helps.
