Scouting at USMA

Had the opportunity to speak with my Regional Commander at an admissions event this evening, who indicated that there was some opportunity for participation in Scouts at West Point. Obviously, cadets are extremely busy and time off-post is limited, but does anybody have any experience/knowledge about serving either as a Scoutmaster in a nearby Troop or doing Venturing/Sea Scouts while at USMA?

No, you are not leaving post. There is the West Point Scoutmaster Council, which is a club. It has a Facebook page. The big event each year is a weekend long camporee at West Point in the Spring each year. There is probably more but you are not leading a troop each week or anything like that. You can read about it on FB. You sign up for it on Clubs Night during Re-Orgy week before the start of the Fall term.

Impossible. You're far too busy and aren't even allowed to leave post on the weekdays, and you certainly couldn't do it as a plebe considering you aren't allowed to ride in motor vehicles off-post unless you take pass.
