Hello!
I'm attending an open house for sea cadets on Saturday, there checking out "new prospects". Just wondering for anyone who has done that how I should dress. Formal, semi formal, etc.

Thank you

You can never go wrong with khaki slacks or skirt and a collared polo. Definitely not formal. Don't be THAT guy.

Open houses are almost always business casual. I agree with Kinnem.

I recall one USMA event which was really more of a seminar, about 50 candidates were there (including my DS) dressed casual but nice. Of course, there was ONE guy dressed in his JROTC uniform.

He definitely stood out.....and not in a good way.

Ha!

I don't know about suspicious but certainly odd. Take a parent with you.
Are you sure it said PM?

I have attended many interviews for both Son and Daughter. Have seen it twice where someone came in full JROTC dress with more fruit salad than I had. Don't know how well it went over with actual retired military on the board. Business Casual is the best way to go.

Yep it was a typo. They had it on Google calendar listed as Singapore timezone, I ended up missing it.

Sorry to hear you missed it (by which I assume you missed the open house and not the typo).
