When I was but a young lad, my parents often had "Burl Ives Sings the Songs of the Sea" on the stereo and to be honest, the songs
may have had some influence on me wanting to sail the open seas.

Here is one that I remember very well.

 
Search YouTube for the U.S. Navy Sea Chanters, a vocal group that often appears solo or with a Navy concert band. They do a wide range of music, but I like it best when they perform traditional sea-related shanties, chanties or shanteys (wide range of spellings).

The USNA Men’s Glee Club usually has at least one in their concerts. Here’s a classic:

If you enjoy listening to sea shanties, you might enjoy the movie : Fisherman's Friends. It is based on a true story bout a group of Cornish fishermen from Port Isaac who were signed by Universal Records and achieved a top 10 hit with their debut album of traditional sea shanties. It's truly a fun movie to watch.

If you have watched the TV show Doc Martin, then you'll recognize where this movie was filmed.
