Sea Trials for C/O '25

So thankful for the opportunities provided. Very proud of DD and knowing her background, she has come far.

She just told us today while R&R last weekend, she hurt her knee badly. The fact that she participated in sea trials and did not do med chit makes her papa and mama proud.

Grind starts again tomorrow for her as she is taking zero period doing some training.
She’s a tough MIDN who found her stride and nailed it. Happy to follow her journey.

I'm not sure the MIDS will share this statement as they busted their butts working. BUT wow did this year fly by. Time seems to move faster as I get older!
Yes, in my case, DS will be a Firstie in 11 days...seems like I Day was just last week...soon he will be commissioned and starting a new journey.

But there were some very good years:cool:

A much older Army veteran explained the passage of time to me this way: W.T. it goes like this… You’re in the bathroom doing your business. You reach for the toilet paper. Then you wonder, is that all that’s left on that dang roll? He followed up anecdote encouraging me to do whatever I had planned – NOW. Plebes become Youngsters, Firsties become Ensigns and 2LTs. Where did that roll go?

My 24 just texted about the Youngster Luau tonight. I'm guessing its just as grueling as Sea Trials; just maybe less running, lifting, and muddy ditches, but lots more food and laughter they have to endure.
Between the luau and the Top Gun premiere my 24 is pretty happy.

That and he sent me a picture of his 2/C shoulder board purchase ($29.00).

Super cool. How the time has flown!
