Tuesday the 18th is Sea Trials for the plebe class of 2013. Eleven long months ago, their journey as plebes began and Tuesday marks their one last hard day as Plebes. Their day starts sometime around 0 dark 30 and will end sometime around 1700. They will be bruised, muddy, and maybe a bit bloody but they will be proud. The next 2 weeks will complete their journey when they put on those 3C boards after graduation.

Wanted to congradualte the class of 2013 and wish them the best as they are about to become upperclass and begin to assume future leadership roles. For those attending NASS these will be your future squad leaders.

Yes, today is a day that DD has been looking forward to for a long time. They appear to have gotten a good day for it with cool temps and some rain, making for some extra muddy conditions.

She was commenting a few days ago that their xyz uniform had to be turned in by a certain day so that when they get it back it will have a stripe on it. A long road for that one stripe. :thumb:

Hard to believe that she was at NASS two years ago and now will be a detailer/leader at NASS in a couple of weeks. Seems like that two years flew by shockingly fast.

Congratulations to the entire Class of 2013. Just days away from making through the second third of their USNA career (plebe summer, plebe year, and the other three years).

Remember that plebe year is actually the shortest year at USNA. It just SEEMS 5x as long.:shake:

Sea Trials is certainly an accomplishment! Tell me about the stripe ... some plebes won't be at sea trials because of sports and other commitments ... does it make a difference in their company standing?

Missing Sea Trials due to a legitimate conflict shouldn't have an adverse impact. Their company standing will be based on the effort and leadership they have shown within company over the course of the whole semester, not just because they missed one (albeit important) training exercise.

Gotta love Facebook. Saw a couple pics of my mid leading her company in wet and sandy. Hoorah!

Sea Trials.......

Our son doing sea trials today also; I can hardly sit down today thinking about it, the excitement, the accomplishments, and this year has just FLOWN by! Good luck Plebes!

Any parents who don't have a facebook page need to get one ASAP. Today's photos of Sea Trials are outstanding! Better, yes, BETTER, than you can buy! Good thing for candidates to check out too!
