I accepted my appointment no more than 10 minutes ago. I have read the handbook they give to appointees, but did not see anything regarding the "more in depth" physical that I have heard about. Does this longer exam take place on I - day? That just wouldn't make sense to me.

Congrats on your appointment! That is a huge accomplishment and you should be very excited! :)

After the DoDMERB, you shouldn't have any other medical exams until I-Day. The only exception I can think of might occur if you have a waiver for something--they may call you in for another exam to check the status of an injury/surgery/etc. On I-Day, they will do bloodwork, make sure you are current on your immunizations, etc., but they don't do a full physical (not for my year, at least).

One word of advice--take the next day or two to celebrate your appointment. ;) Don't immediately start stressing about the appointee kit--it's nothing compared to the application process. Give yourself time to relax and appreciate your accomplishment. There will be plenty of time to stress come June 30. :D

If you got a waiver for your appointment, and if they still do it this way, you will be asked to arrive at 0730 regardless of the BCT squadron you've been assigned. They'll do a quick once over to make sure that you are healthy enough to get through BCT.

For instance, they made my DD do several squats to prove the ACL had healed adequately.
