Also found out I am a 3 yr scholarship winner! Very grateful for this of course! I personally dont come from a wealthy family, and an extra year of tuition payment would really make a difference. Is it possible to bump this to a 4 yr? I plan on doing ROTC anyways with or without the additional year, but I just wanted to help my family out by seeing if I can upgrade it.

I do have a higher SAT score of about 100 points higher than what Cadet Command has on profile for me, and I can turn this in immediately if it matters. Is it possible to bump it before I start college next year?

Thanks!
Is it possible?

Is it possible?

It has happened in the past that a 3 year was upgrade to a 4 year prior to school starting, however it was very rare and I'm not sure they are doing it anymore.

It is more a possibility that you could have your 3 year upgraded to a 3.5 year if you perform very well your first semester and your battalion has upgrades available to offer.

Thanks for the info.

Are they still sending out email notifications today to the students email or have all emails been sent to the winners for the second round?

Congratulations to all scholarship winners!! :) Unfortunately I did not receive a scholarship this board. I am wondering whether the list is final and if there is any hope they will continue informing candidates if they will be selected if any changes happen? :(

That was my daughter's question, she emailed cadet command and was sent an email a few hours later stating that she had not been selected but that she would be stay on the list for the next selection board. Remember if it is like in years past, there are still many to be awarded and the board meets in just two weeks. Good luck to y, I hope you get good news soon.

Statuses are changed on the application website. Supposedly letters will be mailed and uploaded this week. Should be received next week. Plenty of time to make decisions. If your status didn't change assume you rolled to the third round.

Thank you DCKC88 for your response. Now the wait for 3rd round. Good luck to your daughter. My son is awaiting as well. I think we worry more then our children.

This is true AJC. Being a single mom I rack my brains all day and night worrying about how I will pay for my son will get into the college of his choice. He has a nomination for West Point, still awaiting on their decision, but thank goodness was accepted to his first choice college. Now the hard part where to come up with that much money! Ughhhhh some how some way he will go there. They don't realize until the become adults what us parents go thru. Well most parents I should say. Not all parents care how obviously we do on this forum. We want the best for our children.

Hang in ArmyMom!! Fingers crossed for USMA. But if not don't be afraid to go to financial aid office and ask for more. We have a sophomore at a university in Maryland and we wrote a letter asking for more aid bc another school in Maryland offered her more. There is still a lot of wheeling and dealing you can do!

I'm starting to think that my chances are slim. I was seen during the first board and have been waiting ever since then... I'm still trying to keep my spirits up, though! This waiting game just isn't fun at all.

Hang in there, unfortunately whether you receive a national scholarship or not is beyond your control. And, there are still more scholsrships to be awarded, and one might just have your name on it! My daughter is anxious too, she hopes good news is coming soon, but she also has been working and focusing on what she will do without it, it helps. That way if this come through it is just gravy so to speak! Good luck to you.

I received an offer for the Early Commissioning Program Scholarship. If I decline it they will consider me for a 3 or 4 year scholarship. Since I received an offer for this would that mean that I am competitive for the 3 or maybe 4 year?

I received one of those too, while the ECP program is interesting, the science program doesn't really look top notch at any of the schools and that is a problem when I want to be a Biochemistry major. Hopefully I win a 3 year at the 3rd board, I thought my stats were perfect for the scholarship, I feel like I messed up my interview though, and was very nervous, shy and awkward during it.

Thanks for your words of encouragement. We are going to visit Rutgers University tomorrow. (I'm excited) My son is still waiting to hear from West Point. He was accepted to Rutgers, Scranton and Clarkson. Not thru an ROTC Scholarship so hoping 3rd round he will hear something. I will fight tooth and nail for my sons :) Hopefully I will have good news soon :) Thanks again!

Mothers need to stick together!! This is my baby leaving me soon!! Last one!! Btw our dau is going to Scranton, husband went to Clarkson and have a million friends who went to USMA. All good, all different! That being said ROO at Scranton and Clarkson are excellent!! Let me know what happens. Also, 3rd round 4 year scholarships most def. happen!!

Army mom -- in case WP or 3rd board doesn't come through, be sure to have your DS ask his WP RC if WP (after receiving a TWE) would recommend him for a 3yr AROTC scholarship. I do not have direct personal experience with this but have read where WP will coord with AROTC after they have filled the WP class and will provide to US Army Cadet Command a list of well qualified candidates that were not offered appointments and Cadet Command will then offer some a 3 yr AROTC scholarship.
