Selecting major in AFROTC Wings portal

DS is accepted into a specialized engineering program at his school and is planning on switching to aerospace within first year. When he goes to the Wings portal to accept his scholarship, he has to select his school and his major and the engineering program he is currently accepted into isn’t listed (it’s a fairly new program). Should he select aero engineering, or will this cause issues since the other engineering program is listed on his acceptance letter? He has emailed the det to ask, but we haven’t heard back so thought I would check here to see if anyone knows.

I would recommend he give the Det a call to figure it out. However, I believe that you must major in one of the approved "Highly desired majors" in order to be on scholarship. Switching from one tech to another tech major shouldn't be a big deal, however if his current engineering program choice is not on the list he will likely need to go ahead and try to switch to aerospace engineering at the college and put that on wings. I had initially wanted to major in Cyber Operations, but had to stick with Computer Science to maintain scholarship.

Work itnout with the unit. They'll know what he should indicate as a major. He can handle the major change at the appropriate time.
