DS has been appointed to USAFA 2026 and just turned 18. Should he separately register for selective service or is this handled as part of swearing in? TIA

He is still required to register with the selective service by law. It can be done easily online.

"Almost all men ages 18-25 who are U.S. citizens or are immigrants living in the U.S. are required to register with Selective Service. Citizens must register within 30 days of turning 18." (from US GOV't Website)

My son’s SS registration was sent to him automatically- literally arrived the day he turned 18. I thought maybe the process changed so it’s strange to see that it doesn’t appear that is the case. We live in CT.
