I am currently a AFROTC cadet nearing the end of my AS200 year. Out of high-school I received a Type 7 scholarship and I have received a slot for Field Training this summer. Currently I am considering dropping the program. I know that at this point I will be required to either enlist or pay back the money I owe at a high interest rate. I want to know how long I will have to repay the money from the first two years?

My suggestion is to discuss with your cadre. There are a lot of considerations that are specific to you and your circumstances. Best of luck to you.

I agree with the response from EEBTTF. Discuss this with your cadre and make sure you understand all of your options. If you can find a way to stay in AFROTC there are benefits that you may not be able to realize now. Going into the private sector after being an officer in the military opens more doors than a college degree only. Best of luck to you.
