I posted this in the CGA section as well, but I need input from a naval aspect also. I'm scheduling classes for my senior year of high school, but I'm having a hard time deciding which courses I should take for a few of my categories. I am on track to graduate with honors.

english : honors english IV (pseo credit)

history : us history 1 and 2 (pseo credit)

foreign language : spanish IV (pseo credit)

elective : marching/concert band

math : ap calculus (*note, this is the only AP class offered at our school)

science : here's the dilemma... do I take physics or anatomy? both are for college credit. I am planning on doing a pre-med major if I don't get into the academy, but I feel like a solid background is physics is probably better for the academy and would help my chances a little bit...

if anyone has any input, it'd be great. thanks.

I think your reasoning here is correct and therefore I would go with the physics. Take the biology while in college. I assume your applying to both CGA and USNA. You should also apply to NROTC as (another?) backup. Finally, there are threads here and on the NROTC forums on getting into the medical field via navy. I strongly suggest you give them a read.

I would strongly recommend the physics. Under normal circumstances you will encounter physic during Youngster year. It helps to know the basics. Which brings to mind, is there a college nearby where you could pick up a course in chemistry this summer? It is a known plebe killer course and you will have it plebe year

I'm currently taking honors chemistry at the moment. It the highest level offered at our school.
