Service Academy Night?

I'm currently a junior in high school and I'd like to attend USMA. Some of my dad's co-workers said that their kids who go to service academies said for our district (California 47th district) our congressman Alan Lowenthal has a service academy night where they talk about the nomination process. I've tried contacting the office but the representative I spoke with said that she was unaware of it. Any advice on how to find this information?

Thank you!

We did not hear about ours until after the fact even though we were looking for it. It showed up on the nomination application page saying "Service Academy Nights were [already] held on" such and such dates. It was frustrating, as we were watching facebook pages and websites waiting for the announcement. The FFR rep said that it was quickly scheduled (1-2 days notice) so I have no idea how it was as well attended as it was when the picture went up on fb. I would try and find out which staffer is in charge of the service academy nomination procedure and which office they work in (usually one of the local offices and not in Washington) and then contact them. You could also contact your FFR (you will find out who that is when your portal opens and you start your application on the 15th). Email them, introduce yourself, and ask your question. They might know in which month it usually happens. Good on you to be proactive!

His web page under Nominations says, "For more information please contact my Long Beach office at (562) 436-3828."

I'd also suggest contacting the head of JROTC for your school system, if you have one. They are generally aware of Service Academy Nights.
