Service Academy Nomination Differences

Good evening guys! I hope all of you are doing well. I recently got nominated by Congressman Pat Fallon to three service academies, USAFA (my first choice), USNA and USMA. Upon meeting him in person and attending a quick ceremony, I got my certificates and quickly realized a difference between some of them. At the bottom of USNA and USMA certificates it states "nomination" but for the USAFA certification it states "appointment." I have not received any email from USAFA (that I know of), and it is also not shown in my portal, of any appointment letter or status... is this merely a typo? I have attached images for reference as well. Thank you for your help ahead of time!

Dear OP,
Congratulations on your achievement. Sometimes the SA informs the MOC of the appointment before portal is updated and the candidate is informed officially by the SA.

I am not saying this could be the case here, it would be appropriate to wait a few days and see your portal light up. You have been patient all this time, few more days would not hurt.

Someone can chime in if it would be appropriate to get in touch with MOC office and get information from their office.

Interesting, I wasn't even aware that the process could lean that way! I'm definitely taking this as a good sign, I'm a little unassured that the his congressional office would make such a typo... but there's always more behind closed doors. Thank you for your input! I'm also messaging my mentor ALO now to see if he could dish anything out as well :)

Could be a possibility! My Mentor ALO did just call me to confirm that no one has been given an official letter of appointment at the moment, and that the majority of the will be made in March.

Congratulations on your triple nomination, that is a great accomplishment.

The forum is meant to be anonymous, you are doing yourself a disservice posting full pics of those certificates with your full name displayed, you also provided the name of your Congressional representative, which can help people with bad motives pinpoint where you live and go to school. Your username also appears to be your real name. You may want to rethink how you're doing this public forum thing and take steps to protect your anonymity.
 
Why don’t you reach out to your Nomination source? We can speculate until the cows come home…but none of that does you any good. It’s speculation. When you could easily have the actual answer.

A simple phone call will answer your query. And yes, you should not be divulging personal info on an anonymous forum.

Congrats on the Noms! Now tend to plans B and beyond. 3 noms doesn’t equate to an appointment. Make your alternate plans!

I apologize, and you correct, this was my own nativity. I am contacting a moderator now to get this removed. Thank you for looking out for me!
 
DS received the same USAFA “appointment” certificate during his nomination recognition ceremony in IL. No principle nom was given nor does he have an LOA. I wouldn’t read too much into it. Congrats on your three nominations!
