Hello community,
I had a question regarding my nomination. So the chairman of the panel for my nomination interview said that there was only one spot open and there were 11 applying, he was very vague. Does this mean one spot for all the academies or just West Point? I’m only applying to West Point and I made that very clear. Any insight would be appreciated, sorry for lack of detail I was kind of left in the dark.

Hard to know. My best guess assumption is they have 1 spot open at USMA. Each MOC can have 5 Cadets charged to them at a SA at any time. My other assumption is they had 11 applicants in which they can nominate up to 10 names for a nomination for the 1 opening mentioned.

was your interview just for USMA or all the SAs? Many times there are multiple panels to break up the amount each had to interview. My guess is telling you there are 11, one candidate will not make the slate submitted.
