Hi everyone hope you are all doing well,

I was wondering if there were any benefits of having a 100% VA disabled father regarding your service connected nomination.

Please let me know and thank you.

If you haven’t read the Nominations pages on your SA of interest website, there is info there. That is your primary source; most answers are there.

Scroll to the top of the Nominations forum here on SAF and read the Sticky.

Service-connected noms are non-competitive. If you are eligible, you get one.

In addition to the advantage of a guaranteed nomination based solely upon eligibility, there are 10 appointments available to USMA exclusively for children of 100% disabled vets.

It’s actually 65 appointments at USMA. This is the total number, so it’s not necessarily divided evenly between the 4 years. These appointments are for children deceased and 100% disabled.

There is no harm in submitting the service related nomination application. The nomination process is independent of the application process. That being said you're certain to get it, if eligible, as long as you meet the deadlines

Good catch. 65 total in all classes at USMA is correct. I was going off of an older version of USC 10, which has since been amended from 10 annually to 65 total.
