Service Obligation 6 Yrs

Curious if anyone who received an appointment to USNA is required to serve 6yrs active duty like some of those who received appointments to USMA?
 
If memory serves, the requirement is 8 years -- 5 on active duty and 3 in the Reserves. Pilots and NFOs have additional service requirements that start to accrue after they have earned their wings -- 9 years for pilots and 7 for NFOs? Graduate education after USNA could also tack on time, usually 2 for 1.

I'll let a more recent grad or a mid correct any errors in the above.
 
My question is really was it specifically spelled out in the BFE. This year some USMA appointees had to accept 6yr active duty commitment and some had to accept a five year active duty commitment in the BFE.
