DS was not accepted to his first choice afrotc school and does not wish to attend 2nd choice. He has decided on his school (AROTC only), now just waiting on AROTC to see if he receives an offer.

He's probably a long-shot for type 7, but is still being boarded. Should we withdraw his application so that, if offered, the scholarship could go to someone else?

Many times if not all the time, AFROTC offers more scholarships than the number they intend to accept. Removing his application does not necessarily mean another one will be offered a scholarship.

Also, although I don't know the board dates, but typically the files are compiled a few days prior to the board meeting. Thus, if the last board is meeting today, it is unlikely that they would pull it anyway.

I am assuming that the school he has selected only has AROTC on campus, but has your DS looked into see if he could do xtown for AFROTC.

He will be a cadet at North Georgia... all Army, and that has become his first choice. Started all AF, but he's decided that NG and AROTC is where he wants to be... using project GO for Russian this summer... Thanks for all of your post, btw. You've been a fountain of knowledge.
