Should I cancel my appointment?

I wasn’t really sure if this question warranted being on the USNA thread so I just posted it here.

Before receiving my appointment to USNA, I had a physical scheduled with my doctor to finish some paper work for VMI. I was wondering if I will need an up to date physical on file for any paper work that comes with the PTR package, or can I just go ahead and cancel my appointment?

This can fall into the category of “why not?”

Do the operational risk analysis, as a prudent junior military officer does, examining risks and developing alternative paths. If you have an injury or illness prior to reporting on Induction Day at USNA, you must update your medical history. If it’s close enough to I-Day, you might be DQ’d from reporting in because the recovery time is not long enough or other factors. If that happens, you work with Admissions to see what you need to do about re-applying for next cycle.

If this physical is a critical part of your alternate plan line-up to ensure you have a path ready to go without missing a beat in heading off to college, then why not…

Yeesh. I read that as cancel my appointment, as in Offer of Appointment.
