Would the parent activities on I-day be good for a teenage sibling to participate in? Or should it be just the parents?

I can't recall exactly what parent activities there were on I-day, was there a specific activity you were wondering about?

We took DD's younger brothers (8 & 11) with us everywhere last year since we were in the middle of a move. They were very welcoming and recall them doing pictures, writing letters, checking out the Falcons at the I-day breakfast. There were lots of families around, so a teenager should be fine.

Activities may vary a little each year, especially with covid but kids would be fine. In our year, it was a shopping trip to the store, bbq, letter writing, etc. totally doable for kids. And they also take a photo of the family to send to your cadet during BCT - so that would be nice to have the kids there for the photo too.

That's very helpful. Thank you. I just wanted to be sure the sibling would not be out of place being there with us.

Not at all! There is a lot of support there for parents and family members. It's an emotional day - having kids might actually be nice to help keep you grounded and they get to see and be a part of the experience. Soon your journey begins....
