Signs of Navy Football Weekend - Labor Day 2021

.
Does NAVY compete in D1 Rugby? Is there such a thing?

I know … silly question I suppose … I am already frustrated with what I believe will be a disappointing season. The tailgate yesterday was better than I expected … those will be my saving moments.

3rd toughest in the country. For a SA with no hold backs and redshirts filling the roster.
Not being a pain, but what poll did that come from? I can't find them on any depth chart higher than 74th (army 83, AF...dismal at 117).

Does anyone know where to get the hat Coach Calhoun was wearing? It's a black baseball cap w/a little camo on the bill. The front had an American Flag patch in black with an AF Blue lightning bolt thru it... & I want one!:wiggle:
Try the AF team shop...they have all things USAFA.

Was stated by the tv network crew doing the game.

Did Navy have any should, have already been graduated , 5th year covid hold backs , playing in the game?

I know the USAFA had some starting on the O line. Will be Dec grads.

And a navy sub qb that could lead navy to the final four college championships——-in lax.

AF had a group of cadets purposefully rollback last summer once it appeared no football season. That gave them a redshirt year regarding NCAA that the academies very rarely have. It didn't sound like this was a normal occurrence at AF.

Army also has several from their version of the cheating scandals. At least, the articles describing it sounded like they were afforded extra football year.

I have not heard of any from Navy having the same. I am sure it happens, but one-off rarities.

USNA has traditionally had less 5th year players than USMA or USAFA. It’s pretty rare for USNA to have one. It has happened, but very rare. Just how the schools operate slightly different in some areas. I believe USNA lost their fullback due to the Physics scandal. At W. Kentucky now? Not sure if he resigned first or not.

Everyone seems to forgetting prep school. Many, many football players end up there. It is an unofficial redshirt year.

I am a big fan of Marzen-style beers. I have some Yuengling Octoberfest in the fridge right now. You might want to also try Sam Adams Oktoberfest. I actually prefer it to Yuengling, but both are good.
Brewery not far from where I live. Am going to have to try this one....

Wasn’t this thread supposed to be about Navy football? I guess we are all drowning our sorrows.

  • Gladchuk fired Jasper
  • - Jasper rehired as QB coach
  • - Coach Ken to call plays
  • - Offensive Assistant Coach Stutzmann fired as he was “unable to follow the Academy’s COVID-19 policy for religious reasons.
Coach Ken:

“Losing Jasper wasn’t the answer”

I am scratching my head about this whole thing. Ivan Jasper has been a stand up guy and beloved coach for 2 decades. I don’t know if firing him and rehiring was the answer, but it makes things seem really weird and crazy in the coaching room to do that. Also makes one wonder if it was Chet firing or Coach Ken firing?
