We went to my sponsors house and they took lots of pictures for us. Felt like prom almost. They also take professional photos at the event and with cell phones everywhere there are pics galore!

Is this something parents do now? In my day, there wasn't a parent in sight. We wouldn't have been caught dead with parents around for Ring Dance. (Different story for Graduation Ball, of course).

Evidently, it’s a big parent event at WP. Our son is limited to three tickets (guest and parents) and is looking forward to us being there. We haven’t been to WP since Plebe year.

Funny, Ring Weekend at WP used to be about trying to sneak off to get some 'alone time' with your date. Kind of hard to do that with Mom and Dad around!

Our son does not "cadate."

I wish he WERE in a relationship and would leave him the heck alone, but he's decided to postpone that part of his life until his service commitment is up. Best laid plans, right?

LOL - to be young and naive again.... I had great plans to stay unmarried until I made LCDR etc. Got married to girl I met when I was at NAPS, a week after graduation, and its been 33 years now.. (As an aside, resigned my Reserve commission after I pass the Bar Exam, but still received a promotion/certificate to LCDR in the mail a year later; apparently the GS worker assigned to process the termination paperwork retired and it sat on a vacant desk until I sent a "Thanks for the Promotion...but I resigned my commission a year ago...." letter.

And I can’t imagine their notifications on their phones! DS has requested we bring Fortnite. So we will. And happily watch him play. Also the movie Hacksaw Ridge (don’t know why that one?). Also his two state championship football rings (odd request...maybe other plebes have their special mementos there??). I am enjoying packing!!

Whatever gets them through, but if I had won a state championship in ANYTHING I would wear that ring as much as possible!! Interesting when we saw our plebes room 2 years ago at PPW she had good luck cards with drawings from little kids she had taught soccer that were on her cork board. Whatever gets them through. Enjoy the weekend!!
