I wanted to first thank everyone for taking the time to read this post and provide guidance for me and my family moving forward. Thank you in advance!

To provide context, I was medically qualified on November 20th, 2020 and accepted an appointment to USMA in February 2021. I recently found out about reporting past positive covid cases and did so as soon as I found out. I provided a new questionnaire and will visit with a private physician soon to get that resolved.

I was then notified on March 19th that I was being disqualified for Code D211.40 "History of headaches... in the past 2 years". My family and I were in shock as we were in the process of getting our tickets for R-day. I assume that this disqualification came after I reported my past positive covid case as that triggered a new review over my medical records. I have no regrets about providing that information as I believe it is imperative to be honest in this process. I have reached out to both my state coordinator and RC and received a medical waiver today.

The full description of Code D211.40 states, "History of headaches disrupting normal activities or requiring prescription medications more than twice per year in the past 2 years." My family and I were shocked as I have never been prescribed medication for headaches or migraines or visited a medical facility for headache related reasons in the last 2 years or even beyond that. To be sure however, I plan on requesting medical records from my school and primary health provider as soon as school resumes next week from break. From our current understanding the only visit to any medical facility in recent years have been to see if I had covid last year, however to be sure I will double check with the provider. I fully believe in the process of DoDMERB and the necessary role it plays in our application.

My parents have been supportive since the beginning and we understand this is another challenge to overcome. It was unfortunate to find out about this disqualification after being qualified for five months but, as the cadet prayer states "make us to choose the harder right instead of the easier wrong and never to be content with a half truth when the whole can be won" -USMA. This was provided by my SC and I cannot agree with him more.

I apologize for the length of this thread and am very thankful for those who took the time to read this post. I cannot thank you enough. I am keeping a close eye on my DodMERB file and understand the enormous strain covid has put on the system.

Thank you once again, KUSA

That's a very annoying situation to be in and I'm sorry you're dealing with it. I suggest contacting Mr. Mullen and asking him for assistance with your situation.
