In order to continue to provide the level of service our members and guests have come to expect, and to support our continued growth, we will be migrating to an upgraded server configuration on Sunday, January 29th. As part of this migration, we will be undertaking several tests on Saturday, January 28th. While we have been planning for a smooth transition, in the event that there are issues with the migration we will remain on our current server and announce another migration date.
We anticipate there will be one or more short periods of downtime on Saturday and a longer period of downtime on Sunday. We apologize for any inconvenience. During any downtime, a message will be displayed on the site indicating our anticipated return time.
As we are moving hosts, our site's IP address (see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IP_address) will change. Generally, this will be transparent to the end user and requires no action on your part.
After the migration on Sunday, in some cases a user may need to take steps to ensure they are pointed to the new server. Here are the steps to determine if this is necessary:
1. Once the site maintenance is complete on Sunday, we will post a message on the "old" server. If you see this message, you will know that you are still being pointed to the old server. There are several options.
2. It can take up to 8 hours for DNS (see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Domain_Name_System) changes to propagate throughout the Internet, though in our experience with previous server moves it does not take nearly that long for most users. Within an hour of completing the migration, the majority of users should not have any issues connecting to the new site.
3. To immediately update the DNS entry, you can flush your DNS cache, which should result in your browser picking up the new IP address. Instructions are available at the following locations:

b. For iPhone, turn on airplane mode, wait a few seconds, and then turn it off (see http://osxdaily.com/2015/03/31/clear-dns-cache-ios/)
