"New Posts" will only bring up new posts since your last visit. If you visited 2 hours ago, it will only show the posts made since then.

"Today's Posts" brings up every post made today even if there is nothing new added to it since your last visit. If you visited at 8AM and again at noon, it will continue to display everything since midnight, even if you already read it.

Thanks, Luig59, for the clarification of this new posts-today's posts difference between the skins.

In the vertex blue skin, when you click on "today's posts", the new posts -the ones you have not read yet - are in bold. It is easy and quick to see the ones you have not read. I like that the posts for the last 24 hours are listed so I can be reminded of the topics for the day.

I may try the default skin for a while. I did not know there were differences.
 
Yeah - the "new post" button was never in the "vertex blue" skin - only the default version.
I, like Antoinette, simply look at "Today's posts" to see the most recent new posts.
 
I did just add a mod to separate sticky threads from regular threads, let me know what you all think of it.
