SLE 2020 Acceptance?

For all of you waiting on your SLE decision, here's a quick story. This time last year, my son was waiting (impatiently) for his SLE decision. He was finally denied on April 9th. Fast forward to today - he has recently been appointed for the USMA Class of 2024.

So, whatever happens with your SLE application, don't think of it as an end to anything. It is truly just the beginning of a long and rewarding journey.
Same here!!!

My DS was not accepted to SLE..no LOE, No LOA...very competitive state (VA)...appointed 06/Feb...Senatorial and Congressman, won Senator slate...so if you dont get accepted to SLE, do not give up, go to Boys or Girls State!!!!!
My DD just got her nomination to Girl’s State. The Auxiliary was excited to see someone wanted to go. Still waiting on all the Summer Seminars but has a CVW Feb 20-22 lined up.

Tell her to run for office at Girls State...start preparing, read, etc..my DS still has many friends who are super excited about his appointment...

My DD started the process on 1/15, received her SLE Login on 1/22 and completed the information that evening (the login credentials were delayed by USMA for technical issues). She received her acceptance email to Session 2 on 2/4. Good luck to everyone!

I applied to SLE week 2 around Jan 21 and still have not heard back.
My DS was appointed, and I know I am repeating myself, he did not get accepted to SLE, no LOE and no LOA, he just worked extremely hard to get better SAT/ACT (GPA never an issue), went to Boys State, Captain Football team, and I am not sure how many Volunteers hours, Head Coach rec basketball team (youngest here ever), etc. So if you do not get into to SLE, it is not the end.....or is the end if no LOA, LOE....Hard Word, leadership, determination, and dedication!!!! And GO to the Informational meetings USMA has in your area, DS went to two, traveling over 2 hours (we live in rural area) to one of them...you meet face to face with Admissions, and do not show up in JEANS, suit and tie, dress suit, etc....

Nice, hope I get to meet her since we're the same session.

I haven't gotten anything back either (still says pending). Anyone new get accepted into week 1?

If you do not get accepted to SLE, DO NOT BE DISCOURAGED! I was not, and so far I have received a 4-yr ROTC scholarship and I received a nomination so far. I have also talked to many people who either a) did not go to SLE and went to West Point or b) went to SLE and not West Point.
SLE decisions do not mean you will or will not receive an appointment.
My daughter was flat out rejected for SLE and received 2 noms, one principal and just received her appointment to West Point yesterday! So, yes, do NOT be discouraged in the least!

Agreeing with all those who did not get into SLE or any summer program. My DS applied to all of them. Rejected from all except waitlisted for USCGA. Didn't get in. Applied to all SA's except USCGA and has 3 appointments so far. Haven't heard from Navy yet, but no SLE or other summer program acceptance is not the end of the world at all. Keep working the scores, grades, and leadership. Good luck!

Anyone out there have any idea how the process works for reviewing SLE applications? First come first served? List by GPA, or ACT or by district and then review from there? Do they divvy up the apps to regional coordinators? I know, we can all speculate. But don’t have much to bide the time during this ever lengthening wait! LOL. Any way, feel free to speculate, or if anyone actually has direct knowledge of how it’s done, pls share!

Anyone received an acceptance since Feb 6? Was that the last round to go out?
