SLE acceptance emails are going out!

I just got an email as well! I applied the day it came out. Here are some of my stats, hope it helps.

1400 PSAT (740 math 660 reading/writing)
3 varsity sports (captain of one)
Founded an indoor track club
Class president

Best of luck!!

He applied on the 17th. His stats are SAT 1450, GPA 4.8, 2 varsity sports, lots of ECs, 3 leadership positions. He's thrilled!

My son just received his SLE acceptance email! Good luck to everyone!
Congratulations. Any idea how they let candidates know IF they have been declined? Or how long it takes to communicate with someone who applied on 15 Jan 2017?

Got the email last night. My son applied 1/15 as well. Stats are : 1420 PSAT, Captain of one sports team, 3 varsity letter, Eagle Scout, Senior Patrol Leader, lots of EC's.

We went to West Point in Jan to visit, my older son just got an appointment. The student who did the admissions briefing was a junior. He did not get into SLE when he was in high school, but eventually did receive an appointment.

From my understanding they won't let you know until they have filled all spots. It looks like this is just the first round. He/She still has a chance of being accepted.

Hm, weird. I applied the 17th as well and did not get any email yet.

Nothing here in Virginia for my son. Waiting hopefully....

Don't think it is by region. Friend of mine in California and North Carolina have both been accepted.

This "pending" status is absolutely agonizing. I wish they would just accept or deny me already omg

Just wondering how the USMA actually verifies the SAT, PSAT, ACT, extra curricular activities, and leadership roles that applicants provide on their summer seminar applications. I could see some applicants not being 100% honest and padding their profile to gain a more favorable view to increase their odds for acceptance. Just my 2 cents though.....

That would be what my dad would call winning the battle but losing the war. It makes no sense to do that if you plan on getting an appointment.

I totally agree with your dad....I just feel that there are those who think winning the battle is the first step to winning the war. I am sure it happens to the detriment of other honest applicants with the thought that if accepted, they have time to increase their scores and EC's.
