SLE and Coronavirus?

Hi all!

I applied to SLE week 2 and haven’t heard back yet but am wondering if anyone knows how SLE will be affected by Coronavirus. I know New York is a hotspot so I’m assuming if things don’t get better quickly SLE will probably get cancelled or postponed. Anyone know anything different?
 
No one knows. USMA will undoubtedly communicate once a decision is made. Until then, don’t waste precious energy or time speculating.
 
They are still assessing:

Prioriity 1 = Graduation
Priority 2 = Class of 2024
Priority 3 SLE
 
CORRECTION: Hit post too soon. They'll announce when decisions are made. These are the priorities they're working under now

1. Safety of everyone on WP
2. Graduation
3. Class of 2024
4. SLE
 
Currently, decision on whether or not to cancel SLE and youth sports camps will be made NLT April 15.

As with everything else, that could change based on changing conditions.
 
Commissioning and 2020 graduation is the first priority. We have a 2020 at USMA. We would love to see a graduation and our son walk across that stage but we are resigned to the fact that this may not happen. He misses his friends and the camaraderie more than anything. He and his friends have worked so hard to get to this point( friends since plebe year as they have not scrambled) but he also understands the big picture and the big Army is his future.

He has a great sense of humor and said he hopes he gets his diploma via email rather than a text.🙂
