On our packing checklist for SLE, one of the items is money or credit card to make purchases at the cadet store. I was just wondering how much money have you sent and did you purchase a Visa/MC gift card for them to take with them or did you give them cash?

My DS had both cash & his debit card, but probably didn't spend more than $30 +/-, likely on snacks. The cadet store has clothing, cadet supplies, snacks etc. Your DS/DD is probably safe with $50 or less, unless the packing list specifies an amount.
Thanks! My DS doesn't have a debit card as he has no checking account to link one to. I was just going to pick up a Visa gift card and have him bring that and any leftover money I can use for my weekly shopping. My DS and DH went on a visit to USAFA and had too much fun in the Cadet Store!

The swag is better at USMA. 
Shhhhhh... Don't tell DH or DS...I will go broke! We do have a few things from USMA. Dh and DS are members of CAP ( Civil Air Patrol) They had a color guard competition recently in CT at Camp Niantic Army National Guard base. They had a store there.
