Hello,

Are SAT/ACT Writing scores required for the SLE application like the normal admissions process? I wouldn’t think so since they also allow use of PSAT scores but I would like to confirm.

Thank you.

They will use your PSAT scores for early evaluation, but it's better to send your SAT/ACT just in case scores are better.

Will I need to submit my writing scores? I know my ACT and SAT scores are significantly better than my PSAT so I wouldn’t plan on submitting those anyways.

If you took either the ACT or SAT with the writing portion, I would advise that you send those scores in as well. USMA requires all applicants to submit at least one standardized test score with the writing portion, so this will give you a headstart in the admission process for the Class of 2023.

Good luck, and Beat Navy!

Submit everything.

It's better to do that because USMA automatically chooses your best scores. I had a perfect English score on one of my ACTs but for some reason had a real off day on the other subjects...the English score was only one point higher than the score on one of the other tests. I didn't care because that little extra point in one subject could have brought my WCS up over another candidate who I had to beat out.

You can't lose by sending all your scores, but you can lose by neglecting to send something. Consider the fee an investment!!!
