He must log into the SLE portal itself. One of the first emails from SLE Admissions should have the link to this portal.

That’s what it seems like. I’ve only seen session 1 offers reported here so far. I’ve got my fingers crossed for session 2!
 
I applied the day it opened. I have been waiting ever since they first announced last week in February. It looks like I'm going to be waiting more. Kind of curious what makes my application different such that I have not been notified about acceptance/denial yet.
 
Last year, everyone on this forum said SLE really has no bearing on your appointment to an SA. In the back of my mind, I was thinking no way, if they want you for the summer surly they would want you for the academy. Well, the forum was correct, as a parent looking in hindsight, being accepted into SLE has no bearing in the admission process for the SA that is inviting or rejecting you for the summer. One caveat, it does allow you to open the SA application and it is a very good as a resume builder ( my kid told me many kids they met at SLE applied just to help their resume for civilian colleges, they have no intention of going to a SA)

I’m happy for you, I truly am but understand there are many other pieces to the SA application puzzle. Do your homework now, read this forum, pay attention to the FAQ (especially nominations), be education in this SA admission process and start early.
 
DD got her acceptance email on Friday, 02/15/19. Have absolutely no idea what goes into the selection process but for those that asked, here are the stats:
Applied 2nd day window opened;
Applied ONLY for Session I.
 
Does anyone know what was issued on the first day of SLE? Things like shirts, shorts, hat, etc

Last year:

3 PT (dri-fit) t-shirts in platoon color
2 PT shorts
2 USMA black polo shirts
Nice water bottle
Drawstring bag / backpack depending on session
Notebook
Baseball hat

Might’ve been more that I’m forgetting. Been awhile now.
 
My DD got the nice backpack. We think she got it because she was session#1. When they run out (most likely session#2) then they give the drawstring bag.

Due to some mixup, DD got issued only 1 PT shirt so she was rinsing it out every night and then drying before the next day. She kept bugging her squad leader about it. Finally, I think he felt sorry for her and she got the other 2 PT shirts. I guess my point is be prepared to do a little washing on your own.

Also, I know you didn’t ask but it’s good to know the CFA happens that Sunday.

Keep the PT shirts and polos as you can wear them as cadet casual possibly later in your time at the academy.

Edited to add: I stated possibly as the rules for cadet casual change. My 2021 did wear his dri-fit shirts in Plebe boxing.

Yes. My DD’s goal was to do well on it so she didn’t have to retake.

If you apply to the USMA and take the CFA at home, then you have to upload videos as part of your app. If you take the CFA at SLE, no videos are required. Makes life lots easier.

DD practiced a lot before SLE. She did well and sent her scores to USNA and USAFA. In essence, she was done with the CFA requirement in early June.

Her overall CFA score was in the 650s. I don’t know how USMA arrived at that score. Scoring tables aren’t public knowledge.

As a swimmer, DD has towels for every occasion. I'll encourage her to pack the thin beach towels. They dry out faster and take up little room in luggage. (If USNA CVW, bring the thick one which can double as extra bedding - the cots are really small even for DD at 5'5" and it was really cold).

Question: DD filled out all forms and her SLE portal now says Accepted (it moved from Accepted/Pending as she was completing and uploading forms) and she got the email saying she's been formally cleared. Can we go ahead and make plane reservations? I have a ticket on hold arriving 06/01/19 at 12 noon ERW. DD will take the free ground transportation option from there. On the back end, our family is coordinating in NYC, so I will rent & drive up for the closing ceremony and pick her up. I've read through 2018, 2017 threads and it seems they separate the CCs by who's a parent pick up and who's going on the bus back to the airport. If I take advantage of the park & shuttle in from the stadium, does my DD just come with me and shuttle back to the car at the stadium?
