I finally have my psat and sat scores, but they are not too good at least in my eyes.
SAT: 1330
PSAT:1340- (-1 on math). Just did bad on reading

There no more sat or act tests until late February. Should I apply to SLE with these scores or should I wait to take the ACT to see what I get. Thank you for your advice and have a wonderful day.

You can apply with those scores. You should be fine for SLE. Still take ACT when the next test is available. Again, SAT and ACT are now very similar. SAT you get more time to solve problems. By as much as 40% more. ACT Math is bit more difficult. You will find topics from Trig and Precalculus towards the end. Around 8 questions. GOOD LUCK!

I got far worse scores, 1230, and got into SLE! I was extremely worried but that's not a bad score at all. I retook and now have a 1380 so you will be fine! Apply the first day the application opens.

One of the reasons why West Point has SLE is to attract applicants who may not normally apply. If you are in this group, then your SATs can be relatively low to still be invited. If you are in a group that West Point gets many applicants from, then you may be a little low to get an invite. Don't compare yourself to other people unless you are very familiar with their situation.

Have you already started applied for SLE yet or no? I thought that SLE applications opened in December but when I checked 3 days ago said they weren't accepting any more applications for 2018 SLE.

Apply as soon as the application opens. You can update your applications with improved scores later.

Admissions does not wait to get all SLE applications before making decisions. Slots are filled competitively, but on a first come, first served basis.

Once the application opens apply. The sooner you apply the sooner you will find out if you are accepted. Acceptance is on a rolling basis. Good luck, SLE is an awesome experience!

I just want to say something really quickly, and not because your scores are bad at all because statistically, they're pretty good scores. But so were mine.

I had a 28 ACT when I applied to SLE and I was actually rejected from the program. Now, this does not mean you will be rejected, but I applied to the program the first possible moment it was open and was pretty discouraged for a couple of hours when I saw I'd been turned down from it in April.

Kept working hard, kicked some ACT and CFA butt and West Point pitched me an LOA in October.

So if somehow SLE doesn't work out, don't let it shoot you down because it's not always an indicator of your success at the Academy.
