SLS Citizenship Dilemma?

So I recently got accepted to SLS however I got a email from the admissions telling me that they are currently with drawing it because I need to prove that I am a citizen of the United States. I am a naturalize citizen so I am given the choice of either sending my passport or naturalization certificate. [the certificate is currently out of the question right now]

My question is: my passport just expired so I need to renew it, which I'm doing tomorrow, but it takes at least a week and a half. I'm guessing that the academy will receive it in two weeks from now. Do you think that my spot will be still open?
When I read the acceptance letter it was dated for Jan. 11 which is one day after Jan. 10th when the application opened. Because I got accepted early I think that my spot will still be opened. What do you guys think?

Thank you in advance for any answers!

I don't think Passport renewals can be completed that quickly, Why can't you just send your Naturalization Certificate.

the reason I am unable to get the certificate is because I needed to register my naturalization when I was born. I did not register until I was five. For the passport renewal based past experience that was how fast it took.

I don't know if your spot will still be opened (I'm just a candidate), but what I think you could do is scan the picture page of your passport and e-mail it to the person who contacted you explaining your situation - you ARE a U.S. citizen and the passport has expired, and what steps should be taken: you will renew it tomorrow, but you are afraid you might lose the spot on SLS since it takes two and a half weeks to do so...

I think it can't hurt you to explain yourself in this situation.

You have lost me here.

In any case, why are you not calling West Point about your concerns??? They are the folks to speak with.
