SLS Session 1 Starts Tomorrow!

Son finally made it onto a flight after having his canceled due to weather at 3:30 AM, along with several others also headed for SLS. Some made it onto the same flight, others hopefully made the next flight.

What a mess! But USMA is aware, and I'm confident they'll all make it there.

One thing jumped out at my wife & I: what a fine bunch of kids headed for SLS! Not a slacker to be seen, parents could be proud just to have a kid in that type of company.

Good luck & have fun to all headed to SLS!

Hawk - we were there with you. Notification of flight cancellation came through at 0330; I called and he was able to get on a 0740 flight to Memphis and then to Newark. He missed the connection in Memphis due to Atlanta flight delays. He then flew back to Atlanta to catch the late afternoon flight to Newark. We met him for a late lunch as he was waiting for his third flight of the day. We were coming back to the airport as a friend needed a ride. That's 6 hours of driving for me.
What a crazy day with lots of driving (and flying).
I tell him changes like this build character as there are many things beyond our control and we need to learn to adapt and overcome. I'm excited for these kids. What a fantastic experience they are going through.
