"This training is a familiarization course for the individual that has little,
or no, prior knowledge of safe rearms handling and use. This program
will include basic rearms safety, safe weapon handling, basic
shooting fundamentals, and the cleaning and maintenance of rearms.
Individuals will be introduced to four basic types of rearms; the
revolver, the semi-automatic pistol, the pump action shotgun, and the
AR-15/M-16 ri-e. There will also be a brief overview of the AK-47 ri-e
and the M1A/M-14 ri-e.
Individuals participating in this program will be live ring each of the
rearms listed, under the direct supervision of certied and experienced
rearms instructors.
Additionally, training on piracy mitigation and the use of deadly force
will be covered during the course.
Course Schedule: This is a 12 hour training program. The classes will
run on Fridays from 1600 to 2000 at the Academy, and on Saturdays
from 0800 to 1600 at the Monument Beach Sportsman’s Club. Transportation
to and from the Monument Beach Sportsman’s Club from
MMA will be provided. Currently, the class is scheduled for May
29th/30th, and June 12th/13th, 2009. Additional classes will be scheduled
in the future.

Program Cost: The cost of the training is $295.00."
