I have some really good and really bad memories of the ski area. The bad memories were from Rook year in the dead of winter. We had the leather jump boots issued and they don't do well in 3 ft of snow. Good memories - my toes are getting numb just thinking about it.

My son is in the ski club. They have several ski weekends in the spring. Sugar Bush is just a 30 minute drive from campus. He is making the most of his Yankee SMC experience.

My Norwich son gets a season pass to nearby Bolton Valley, which is a nice alternative to the more expensive resorts.
A lot of civilian kids are attracted to the U of Vermont for its proximity to prime skiing/snowboarding. For that narrow demographic of students interested in both a corps of cadets and snowsports, Norwich beats the Citadel and TAMU hands down.
