Last night I was notified that I received an appointment to USAFAPS! I am so thankful for this opportunity and for all the help and guidance that this forum has given me!

Congrats! Just a question, when you got your TWE did it mention about the prep? Like "Was not selected to the Academy and our Prep program this year?"
 
My TWE last year stated:
Thank you for applying to the Class of 2017; however I am sorry to inform you we will not be able to admit you to the Air Force Academy or one of our preparatory programs this year.

I still tried to hope that I would get a last minute phone call, but it didn't come. I reapplied this year, because it is what I wanted and my last eligible year.

Congratulations on your appointment to the P School. My DD graduated from there last year, and is currently at USAFA. It's NOT QUITE a "cake walk" but i guarantee you will have the opportunity to make friends there for the rest of your life. Once a Preppy.. ALWAYS a Preppy.

Stay strong and try to remember why you wanted to come to the Academy, most preppies seem to make it through the P, but we have a huge number of them leave prior to junior year.
 
Preppies are key.

Way to go! The preppies and priors are key parts of BCT as they provide 'inside knowledge' of how the military works. DS roomed with a preppie during BCT 1 and learned the shortcuts on how to quickly make a bed correctly and many other things. That particular preppie, a football player, is also on the Dean's List and on track for admission to medical school. Pursue your goals hard as you have been given a golden opportunity as the result of your hard work and talents. Best wishes! :thumb:
