Congrats. You just won. Now what? Cadet Command will send you a letter and you must accept the scholarship. You get 30 days to accept. If you don’t the next person on the list gets an offer.

Start getting in shape and stay in shape. Far too often students show up out of shape and can’t contract. Don’t be that guy/gal. It’s embarrassing especially when we have to tell your parents the truth after you told them there are administrative problems on why the school is charging you for tuition instead of the Army.

Pass your DODMERB. You can’t contract without a qualified medical.

Get ready for college. Its challenging and different and difficult for alot of freshmen.

Get motivated.

Any advice on when/how to approach the possibility of getting a 3 year AD upgraded? Numerous posters have mentioned that happening to them.

I suspect it will happen after the deadline for the winners to accept their offers. My DD received her 3-year scholarship in February and her upgrade email in April. Good luck.

So she didn't do anything? They just contacted her and sweetened the offer, so to speak, after she had accepted?

Attend Montana State and the school covers freshman year.
Via the Army- hope you were high on the list. Not much you can do now. On campus perform very well and the PMS might ask for your 3AD to be upgraded to a 3.5 and start spring semester.

correct! We were on spring break on a cruise so she got the email after returning to the US. She did not have to reaccept either. She just stayed the course and continued physical preparedness. She must have been right on the bubble.

Yes..it was quite a surprise. We did not know something like that could happen. She had visited the campus for Scholars weekend after she accepted the 3-year scholarship and the cadre said that they would be working on getting her more. But she was just happy the Army wanted her as a nursing major!

Correction to winners packets. They are not being sent out this board. On your dashboard click additional info in links. There is a pdf titles scholarship winner instructions.

There is a pdf called accepting scholarship and transfer request. Instructions are in there to transfer.

You will need to upload the winner letter in the file upload tab.
An email will be coming out explaining this. Be patient.

did you just get the scholarship on this board? I believe it is those who won 3 years on previous boards who get updated in most cases. Congratulations on your 3 year!

So just to clarify, there will be no BFE for winners this board?

My DD has a DQ on DODMERB for self reported concussions during her years of sports. She is under waiver review for USNA ( rec'd a LOA to NAPS). She just received "winner" for a 4yr AROTC scholarship). Do you know what she has to do to see if AROTC will also waive or consider waiving it? Thank you.

Quote from AROTC site:
DISQUALIFIED: If DoDMERB determines that you are medically "disqualified," you will automatically be considered for a medical waiver (if you have not declined your scholarship). This means you do not have to request a waiver.
