Second post of the day here... I'm still waiting for my chemistry and my math SOE and it's been 3+ months. I politely and relatively frequently remind my two evaluators that it's really important to me that I finish this application by December 1st, and they promise every time that they will do it by the end of they day, week, etc... but they never do. Should I go to administration? I don't want to make my teachers look bad and I also don't want to hurt our relationship, but I've completed everything in my control for my applications and now I'm just waiting on SOEs and medical stuff

When my DS was having a difficult time getting his letters, he contacted his Guidance Counselor. Twice they were able to provide a reminder/nudge for the teachers and it helped. If they aren't responding it's not unreasonable at all to engage the help of others. This is too important to not tap into whatever resources are available to you. Good luck!

My DD had trouble connecting with a gym teacher to administer her CFA. She ended up reaching out to her guidance counselor, very diplomatically, explaining the importance of the CFA to her future plans while still being understanding of the extra workload on teachers currently with hybrid/remote learning plans. The guidance counselor was able to get her properly connected with the gym teacher, and all was well.
I don’t know if that’s an option for you, but a politely worded email to your guidance counselor (not that I think you’d do it any other way) explaining your awareness and understanding of your teachers’ current workload and responsibilities, the steps you’ve taken so far with the teachers, as well as your current timeline for your application process and the impact of this application on your future may work as a soft nudge. My DD didn’t want to ruffle any feathers with her teachers either. She thought the counselor was a less authoritative option.

I’m a FFR/District Coordinator and have seen this sporadically. 3 months is way too long IMHO. I always recommend that candidates a) approach the teachers to explain the situation and importance (which you have), then if no immediate progress, b) escalate to guidance counselor. THEN if it’s not resolved, you could either escalate it to the principal or to your FFR for guidance/action. Be professional, but also stand up for your candidacy!
