Hello. I know I'm extremely late in admissions for West Point. I made the decision to apply in early October this year as a senior and I was barely able to finish my Congresswoman and one of my Senator's nomination applications on time. I think I should be fine with the Candidate Statements and I think I should be trained up for the CFA by mid-December. My main concern right now is the SOEs. All of my Chemistry, Physics, and Physical Education teachers left my school and I don't have a way to get in contact with them. What should I do in this situation?

The only thing you can do: find a way to contact them (maybe ask your guidance counselor or principal.) You'll be surprised at how willing people are to help you with stuff, especially for USMA. Reaching out and re-establishing relationships shows USMA and other schools that you're mature, and good at communicating. Good luck!

Awesome, I just talked to my counselor about it and she's contacted them for their emails. Hopefully everything goes well! :)

Also is there anything I should be aware of about the application aside from the Candidate Kit, SOEs, Nominations, and Medical exam? I heard there's an interview for West Point as well, but I'm not sure when I would get that. I might just be paranoid because many people start their applications in junior year.

Talk to grads, learn as much as you can about USMA and the Army. Make sure you apply for an ROTC scholarship if you're into that.

Work hard on the application, and get it done early so you can get DoDMERB out of the way.

It's a long process, but you can do it if you work hard!

What was the catalyst for your decision?
To be honest I've always fitted into the Military Academy's ideals (focus on academics, leadership, and fitness), I just never really realized this. I used to think that the Military Academies was for people with low grades who have no other choice but to physically train their bodies for military service, but as I did more research on colleges that fit my ideals I realized I was wrong.

Have you try reaching out to your FFO or R.C. and explaining your problems? On another note...if you are serious about attending USMA, stay focus and work hard to complete your application ASAP. My son didn’t decide to apply until summer of Jr. year, and he didn’t finish he application until January because he was working on applications to three other service academies at the same time...he didn’t start until fall of senior year. Anyways my point is this, if you really want it, hit the road running from now. Don’t worry that you started later than others, focus on what you can do from the point forward.

I haven't reached out to my FFO yet, but I got this problem figured out now. I sent in the SOEs to all my teachers and my Physical Education teacher finished his already. I think I'll be fine moving forward, but I'll definitely check in with my FFO for any further issues.

That’s great! Press on...the next few months will be such a wonderful/stressful journey, well worth it. Good luck to you!

If you are competitive in your primary MOC district, you FFR will most likely reach out to you to complete the interview. Interview are required this year at USMA and there are a few growing pains with the coordination between the RCs and Field Force.

Contact your FFR or admissions. Same thing happened to DS and he was given other teachers to use. Good luck.
